Deborah A. Roe, 61, of 147 Maple Hill Road, Blossburg, faces charges of aggravated cruelty to animals by the Humane Center of Tioga County, animal control, after she allegedly kept multiple animals in her room at the residence.

According to animal control officers, on Oct. 11, an officer was dispatched to the residence on a complaint that multiple dogs and cats were living in unsanitary conditions in an upstairs bedroom of the house she occupied.

When they arrived, officers allegedly found two dogs on a bed, multiple cats in the room and two cats in a locked dog cage overflowing with feces.

The room occupied by Roe was padlocked.

According to the complaint, there were also dead cats which were decomposing and causing maggots to drop through the floor to the living room below.

A black liquid also was dripping from the ceiling onto the plastic tarp on the living room floor.

Roe was issued a summons to appear at a Jan. 23 preliminary hearing.
