Brandon Thompson led all of District Four basketball in blocks in the 2019-2020 basketball season and was a premier defensive presence for the North Penn-Liberty basketball team that ended a 20-year drought with a NTL Division 2 Championship.

“It feels great,” Thompson commented on being named the Tioga Publishing Defensive Player of the Year. “I worked in the summer, spring and especially in the fall. I was going down to the Fitness Factory in Williamsport for speed, agility training plus playing AAU helped me a lot with experience and experiencing more difficult competition.”

Defensively, Thompson was top notch last season and was a force in the paint all season long.

“Well it’s always been kind of natural,” Thompson commented on his defensive prowess blocking shots. “I’ve gotten better at learning people’s tendencies and watching film helps a lot.”

When asked what to expect from the block champion of District 4 in his senior season, Thompson said with an abundance of confidence, “150 blocks, easy.”
