David Butler is named the CSFL Offensive Co-player of the Week.

Mansfield University’s David Butler (Philadelphia, Pa./Simon Gratz) was named CSFL Co-Offensive player of the Week after a record-breaking performance against Chestnut Hill on Saturday.

Butler pounded out a Mansfield sprint football single-game record of 254 yards on 25 rushes in Mansfield’s home opener on Saturday, averaging 10.1 yards a carry.

The junior ripped off five runs of 10 or more yards including a long of 74 yards. His 254 yards demolished the previous single-game record of 153 set by Aren Harris in 2015.

Butler also hauled in a 12-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter that was the go-ahead score at the time for Mansfield.

Mansfield hosts Saint Thomas Aquinas for the annual Light Up Mansfield Again game on Saturday.
