Tracy Marie Sharp, 50, of Noblesville, Ind., faces charges of acquisition and possession of a controlled substance, failure to furnish required acquisition forms in acquiring a controlled substance and theft at UPMC Soldiers + Sailors Memorial Hospital while she was employed there as a registered nurse between April 15 and July 13.
According to documents filed at District Judge Rob Repard’s office, Wellsboro, on May 5, Sharp allegedly took a 100 mcg. vial of Fentanyl, dispensing 25 mcg. to the patient as ordered by the physician.
There is no documented waste of the other 75 mcg. and it is unaccounted for.
On May 6, she allegedly took a 100 mcg. vial of Fentanyl.
There is no documentation that she administered 75 mcg. to the patient, per doctor’s orders, and she said she wasted 50 mcg., which also is unaccounted for.
On June 2, she took a 10 mg. vial of morphine and administered six mg. to the patient per physician’s order, but there is 4 mg. of morphine undocumented and unaccounted for.
Additionally, Sharp had numerous records of documenting waste of Fentanyl, morphine and Ativan, during her approximate two month employment period.
The vials and medications were found in her vehicle and she said were “inadvertently” taken from the hospital taken from the hospital during her shift, and that sometimes she forgets to destroy unused portions of the medication, according to the police affidavit filed with Repard’s office.
Sharp’s preliminary hearing was set for Sept. 10.
