Male Athlete of the Week
North Penn-Mansfield football
The North Penn-Mansfield Panthers football team were able to come up with an enormous upset of their rival Wellsboro Hornets during the first round of the district playoffs, and Logyn Choplosky was tremendous in their effort.
Defensively, he helped anchor a front that held the Hornets to one of their lowest totals running the football all season, and their lowest scoring total of the year.
Choplowsky totaled nine tackles, one tackle for loss, two quarterback hurries, one forced fumble and two recovered fumbles in the contest and was force in the trenches throughout.
On the offensive end, he helped to control the line of scrimmage and dictate the pace of the game, where the Panthers dominated the time of possession, especially in the second half of play where the Hornets had very limited possessions.
Choplowsky was a defensive force for the Panthers in their upset win over Wellsboro, and is why he is named this week’s Male Athlete of the Week.
Female Athlete of the Week

Tice had an extremely well rounded match against Wellsboro, and was a brick wall at the net, coming up with a total of nine blocks throughout the contest. Tice was also able to fill up the stat sheet by coming up with 13 kills and two digs.
Tice reached her higest kill total of the seaosn with 13 and with her nine blocks moved up to 112 on the season at a clip of 1.5 per set this season.
Tice has been one of the biggest contributors during the Mounties impressive season, and she continued her aggressive play for the Mounties as they swept the Holy Redeemer team in their first round of state competition. Tice tallied seven kills, three blocks and three digs in the state playoff victory to help her team get past Holy Redeemer for the first time.
Her strong play in the district and state playoffs, as well as all season, is why she is this week’s Female Athlete of the Week.
