Female Athlete of the Week
Wellsboro Cross Country
Freshman Madeline Gage has started her varsity cross country career with a bang, and has been one of the top NTL runners so far in the season. Madeline has been able to come up with wins in three out of her four regular meets so far this season.
In the only meet she didn’t win she was still able to come out with a top two finish. In the North East Pennsylvania Invitational she placed an extremely impressive 30th.
Gage posted her best time of the season in her first meet in September with 19:22, and has been the strongest runner for the Lady Hornets cross country team all season. Her strong season so far are a big reason why Wellsboro currently sits at number two in NTL large school standings and also is why she is being named this week’s Athlete of the Week.
