In their second to last action of the season, the North Penn-Liberty Lady Mounties (2-20) girls basketball team was dropped by sister school North Penn-Mansfield by a score of 62-7.

The Lady Mounties were led by Eva Rice who scored three points, Kiersten Mitstifer who scored two points and Brdgette Russell netted two points in a game where the Liberty girls were unable to get their offense going throughout.

In their final game of the season, the Lady Mounties were unable to pull off an upset and spoil the Cowanesque Valley Lady Indians (11-11) playoff hopes, as they fell by a score of 56-18.

The North Penn-Liberty girls never got their offense going, and couldn’t get themselves on the board until the second quarter where they were able to score eight points.

At the half, the Liberty girls found themselves on the wrong end of a 30-8 scoreboard to the Lady Indians who hit on three first half three-pointers.

In the second half, the offense continued to struggle, with Ryann Uphamm and Elizabeth Kitckie both scoring two in the frame.

The Lady Indians cruised to the end with a 38-point advantage at the final buzzer with the score at 56-18.

The Lady Mounties had seven players score during the contest, with Upham and Jaclyn Nelson pacing the Mounties with four points.

Top-scoring option Eva Rice was held to just three points in the loss with none coming in the second half of play. Sydney Landis, Kitckie and Camryn Moyer all scored two in their season finale.

With the loss the Lady Mounties finish their season at 2-20, but have a lot of upside next season with a roster that will be almost completely intact with the lone senior on the team being Moyer.
