The Liberty Lutheran Parish Picnic is Sunday, July 21. Come to the Liberty Ballpark for worship at 10 a.m. and stay for a community meal. Bring a dish to pass, if able; hot dogs and beverage will be provided.

The July book club selection is “Radium Girls” by Kate Moore. The meeting will be at Ginny Schrodo’s house on July 29 at 1 p.m. The book selection for August is “On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous” by Ocean Vuong. September’s book is “Educated” by Tara Westover.

So, cool down with a cold drink and a good book.

The Lutheran Parish in conjunction with community churches, is collecting used eye glasses. A box for collecting can be found in each church. This is a July effort.

The baptism of Alaina Rachel Kreger was held on Sunday, July 14 at Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Adams. Alaina is the 4-month-old daughter of Zachary and Heidi Kreger, Morris. She wore her great-grandmother, Baiba Kreger’s baptismal dress. A family meal was held on the Kreger family farm.

Movie in the Park will be Friday, July 19 at 9 p.m. in the Liberty Ballpark showing “Wonder Park.” Bring a lawn chair. Free admission, popcorn and water. Sponsored by LiVE and Harvest Family Fellowship Church.

Salem Ladies Aid will meet Thursday, July 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the church.

The Howard and Dorothy Norman family descendants had their annual reunion recently at the Fallbrook Hunting Club, since Howard was a founding member of the club.

Family members arrive from different points of the United States and come and go for four days.

They have strong family ties and enjoy seeing their cousins, etc.

There is lots of cooking, eating, fellowship and organized activities. It is believed about a total of 80 plus people came sometime over the weekend.
