Crash

James L. Baker, 35, of Lawrenceville and Santana R. Bradshaw, 19, of Tioga, both avoided injury in a two-vehicle accident on Route 287 in Lawrence Township, Jan. 15. Baker was operating a 2012 Hyundai Elantra when he failed to yield to oncoming traffic when making a left turn at a green light. Baker’s vehicle struck a 2009 Toyota 4-Runner operated by Bradshaw. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts and neither was injured in the accident. Lawrenceville Ambulance, South Williamsport Fire and Wheelers Towing assisted on the scene.

Timothy P. VanGorden, 33, of Middlebury Center and Kelsey L. Swan, of Wellsboro, suffered suspected minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident on Catlin Hollow Road Jan. 16. VanGorden was operating a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado when he traveled across the North bound lane struck a sign and continued down and umbankment before coming to a final rest against a tree. Both VanGorden and Swan were transported to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital for their injuries.

Olufunke F. Coker, 28, and Navarro A. Burch II, 24, both of Baltimore Md. suffered suspected minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident on U.S. 15 in Bloss Township Jan. 18. Coker was operating a 2017 GMC Terrain during a snow storm and was crossing the Arnot Road Bridge when the vehicle spun into the concrete bridge rail. Coker was able to navigate the vehicle to an open spot on the side of the road north of the bridge following the accident.

Janice M. McSwain, 57, of Gaines avoided injury in a one-vehicle accident on Route 6 in Gaines Township Jan. 18. McSwain was operating a 2007 GMC Envoy when she drifted off the side of the roadway. McSwain attempted to recover but was unable to regain control as the vehicle crossed Route 6 and struck a guardrail before coming to a final rest on the berm of the road. PennDot and the Galeton Fire Department assisted on the scene.

Ann L. Rasmussen, 21, of Cochranville suffered suspected minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident on U.S. 15 in Liberty Township Jan. 19. Rasmussen was operating a 2007 Honda Civic when the vehicle slid and entered the snow covered median. Rasmussen struck the guide rail cables, spun 180 degrees and slid along the cables for a short distance before coming to a final rest.

Mikaillla M. Nolasco, 21, of Millerton avoided injury, while Rhonda L. Wheeler, 56, of Millerton suffered an injury of unknown severity in a two-vehicle accident on Main Street in Lawrenceville Boro, Jan. 19. Nolasco was operating a 2003 Dodge Caravan and attempted to turn left from Main Street onto Cowanesque Street, when she struck the front right side of a 2015 Hyundai Sonata operated by Wheeler. Nolasco was cited for vehicle turning left, and Wheeler was transported by ambulance to Guthrie Corning Hospital.

Kimberlee J. Siciliano, 43, of Elkland suffered unknown injuries in a one-vehicle accident on U.S. 15 in Tioga Township Jan. 18. Siciliano was operating a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix when she lost control of the vehicle as she attempted to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The vehicle slid off the roadway and struck a guide rail. Siciliano was transported to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital for her injuries.

Drug possession

A 17-year old male of Blossburg and a 16-year old male of Trout Run were arrested for drug possession in Liberty Boro Jan. 7. The incident occurred after staff at North Penn Liberty High School became aware that a student had sold another student a marijuana sugar cookie. The staff conducted an internal investigation and upon discovering sufficient evidence of the crime, it was reported to State Police in Mansfield.

Burglary Residential No Force

Police are investigating a reported burglary on Cherry Street in Bloss Township that occurred on Jan. 16. The actor(s) entered the locked residence by unknown means and stole a Remington 1100 shotgun. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police.

Police are investigating a reported burglary that occurred on Hardscrabble Road in Rutland Township Jan. 8. Unknown actor(s) forcibly entered the victim’s camp and cut copper pipes. The actor(s) then stole a chainsaw and vehicle parts before fleeing the scene. Stolen property was valued at a total of $235 with an additional $115 in damage. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police.

Terroristic Threats

A 21-year-old male was arrested for terroristic threats following a reported altercation on Main Street in Blossburg Boro Dec. 8, 2019. The actor reportedly brandished a knife during the altercation. The individual was arrested and charged through district court.

DUI

Daniel E. Saniga, 24, of Wellsboro was arrested for driving under the influence following a one-vehicle accident on Charleston Road in Charleston Township Jan. 12. Saniga was operating a 2011 Ram 2500 when the vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a utility pole and a fence before coming to a final rest in a ditch. When police conducted an investigation of the crash it was discovered that Saniga was driving under the influence.
