Residents of Mansfield and Richmond Township on the municipal water system were placed under a boil water advisory Sunday, Sept. 8, when samples revealed too little chlorine, said borough manager Lynette Burton Tuesday.
“DEP took a sample yesterday, (Monday) and will take another one today,” she said.
The municipal authority normally tests the water samples daily, DEP once per week.
“We need two good samples before DEP will release the boil water order,” she said.
She could not say how long the boil water order would be in effect but it was still in effect as of Wednesday.
UPDATE: As of Wednesday evening, Sept. 11, the boil advisory has been lifted by DEP.
