The Mansfield University women’s track and field team volunteered with Second Chance Animal Care Sanctuaries in Tioga Pa. on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 8.
During the afternoon, the Mountaineers spent time exercising the dogs, caring for and playing with the cats and kittens, while cleaning different areas of the facility.
“This was a new opportunity for the women’s track and field team to perform community service in our area and the second chance animal care sanctuary was the perfect match,” Head Coach Tim McAninch said. “My hope is that we raise awareness about the organization in our area and increase the adoption potential for their animals.”
The women’s track and field team will continue with their efforts to raise awareness about the adoptions available through the organization.
