Amanda Wimbrough Lopez of Suffolk, Va. was sworn into the State of the Virginia Law on June 18. She is going to further her career by joining the Army.

Christopher Wimbrough graduated from Alfred University on June 20. Amanda and Christopher are the children of the late Jerome Wimbouogh and Tammy Grinnell and the grandchildren of Lenore Wimbrough.

Sunday, Larry and Marie Packard and Rich and Jane McGee were welcomed as new members in the the Whitneyville United Methodist church in a service led by Pastor Bill Baker. The congregation officially welcomed them into our church family.

Diana French was seriously injured in a hit and run accident last week and was taken to the Sayre Hospital She is a sister of Janlyn Gerow Shumway. Jan reported that she has had successful surgeries and will be in the hospital for therapy. Sounds like this will be a long healing process. Please keep her in your prayers and cards do help when you are feeling bad.

Sheldon and Bernadene Quimby of Port Ewen, N.Y. spent the weekend with Jeannette Comstock. Saturday we sisters — myself, Jeannette Comstock, Bernadene Quimby and Dianne Kennedy — gathered at Jeannette’s to celebrate her 83rd birthday. We enjoy our get-togethers and they hadn’t been home since Christmas so this was a special day and Jeannette doesn’t look any older.

Marty Watters has a birthday this week and he and Beverly will celebrate their 71st anniversary on June 26.

Kay Gallagher also has a birthday on the 26; happy birthday Kay. Marge Wetherbee’‘s birthday was June 21 and also Roger Quimby of California.

KD Jay has a birthday on June 30. We missed you at church.

I visited Lou and Kathy Rice on Friday and swapped some puzzles with them. They have a neat puzzle table and enjoy doing them, with help from anyone who stops in. I understand that Kathy’s daughter, Sue McConnell, is a good puzzle helper.
