On Sunday, June 23, from 1-4 p.m. Second Chance Animal Sanctuaries will hold its annual Open House at its facility located at 725 Gee Road, Tioga, 2 ½ miles off of Route 287 in Holiday.

Second Chance opened this facility, the Heading Home Center, in September 2016. The main purpose of the center is to take in stray, abandoned and surrendered dogs and cats, rehabilitate them and adopt them out to new homes.

Since opening, the organization has adopted more than 500 animals and has reunited more than 75 lost dogs with their owners. Second Chance is totally donation based and relies on fundraisers and support from the public to accomplish their goals.

The annual Open House is an opportunity for the public to visit the facility, interact with the people directly involved with its operations, visit the animals under their care, and enjoy the festivities.

There will be building tours, light refreshments, live music, wine tasting, a yard sale, chance auction of all new merchandise, chances to win $100 worth of lottery tickets and more.

Bring your pet(s) for a Blessing of the Animals at 1:30 p.m. For information, contact Second Chance at 570-376-3646.
