Lady Hornets control matchup with Williamson

The Wellsboro girls basketball team finished their regular season with wins over Williamson and Troy.

Against Troy the Lady Hornets were dominant. Wellsboro scored 52 points with Emma Poirier and Cathryn Brought leading the way. Poirier finished the evening with 14 points. Brought was just one behind her with 13 points of her own. From the opening tipoff to the final buzzer the Lady Hornets controlled the matchup with Troy.

After the resounding victory, the Lady Hornets hosted Williamson to earn their 10th win of the season. Poirier led the Wellsboro offense with 22 points on the evening in a game the Hornets would win by 25 points.

The next night Wellsboro hit the road and traveled to Williamson for their 11th victory and their third straight.

The game started with 22 points in the first quarter for Wellsboro. The Lady Hornets held Williamson to just six points in the first half. Holding a 28 point lead at halftime, Wellsboro coasted through the second half to a 52-20 road win.

Brought finished with 11 points to lead Wellsboro.

Poirier followed close behind with 10 points.
