The Cowanesque Valley Lady Indians won their season opener against the Sayre Lady Redskins in five sets.

After falling in the first two sets of the of the night 24-26 and 23-25, CV stormed back with a dramatic 25-22 win in the third set. The Lady Indians fed off the momentum from that set victory and dominated the fourth set winning 25-11. The Lady Indians closed out their victory with a 15-10 win in the fifth to start their season with a win.

Rylie Walker led the Lady Indians with three aces and seven kills.

Makayla Vargeson and Cheyanne Lowe had six and five kills each respectively.

Defensively the Lady Indians had 50 digs on the night. Ashleigh Southard led the team with 16 digs. Just behind her was Abby Ackley with 14.

After the season opening win the Lady Indians now prepare for a home match against Williamson on Thursday before going there Saturday for Williamson volleyball tournament.
