Tuesday night the Galeton Lady Tigers took on the Coudersport Lady Falcons. Galeton fell in four sets. This was Galeton’s first game since the Williamson volleyball tournament over the weekend. In the tournament Galeton fell to Coudersport in two games. Monday night the Lady Tigers hoped to turn their fortunes around against the Lady Falcons.
Galeton fought hard as they prevented Coudersport from ever getting a comfortable lead. Maddie Sauley led the Lady Tigers with five kills and an ace with Marika Lechler and Brielle Kalacinski following close behind with both adding four kills. But it wasn’t enough as Coudersport’s Senior Shaelyn Black ruled the net with five blocks and 25 kills in the Lady Falcons win.
The scores for the night were 21-25, 22-25, 25-23, 17-25 in favor of Coudersport.
This was Galeton’s first loss on the season. Galeton looked to put the loss behind them Wednesday night when they next took on Cameron County.
The Lady Tigers fought tooth and nail in five games against Cameron County but it just wasn’t enough. The girls fell in a close first set 22-25. They stormed back in the next two sets though winning 25-16, 25-22. Cameron County would earn a narrow victory in the fourth set with a 23-25 win. In the fifth and final set Galeton narrowly lost 14-16.
In the loss Brielle Kalacinski led the team with five kills and three blocks. Kelsey Bennett and Erin Cimino each added three kills. Makenna Shuemaker had seven assists and four aces in the close loss.
After the loss Galeton sits at 2-2 with an upcoming game Thursday night at home against Oswayo Valley.
After the win over Galeton the Coudersport Lady Falcons got set to take on Otto-Eldred Thursday.
