Leroy W. Petters, 67, of Mullica Hill, N.J., escaped injury after he crashed his 2019 Chevy Silverado into a deer that had entered Route 6, Gaines Township June 23. He was wearing a seat belt.

Ryan C. Babcock, 39, of Whitby, Ontario, Canada, and his passengers all escaped inJury in a one-vehicle crash on Route 15, Jackson Township, Lycoming County June 28. Babcock was traveling north in a 2016 Honda Odyssey mini-van with six passengers when a hay bale rolled down the hill onto the roadway. Babcock swerved to avoid hitting the hay bale, but was unable to avoid hitting it. He and all six passengers, including Cynthia Babcock, 88, Rick Babcock, 70, Mary Babcock, 36, and three minors, aged, two, seven, and 11, were wearing seat belts or in proper child restraints.


Police are investigating a report of a trespasser at Fischler Street, Delmar Township June 25. According to police, the 63-year-old victim reported seeing a trespasser in his barn.

Criminal mischief

Police are investigating a report of criminal mischief with property damage at 114 South East St., Knoxville June 25. According to police, an unknown person damaged property belonging to a 44-year-old male of Knoxville valued at $200, including a solar lawn light and a decorative glass block.

Receiving stolen property

Kaleb Hiedrick, 30, of Addison, N.Y., was arrested for receiving stolen property in connection with a stolen vehicle from Lawrenceville, June 27.

According to police, Heidrick was seen operating the 2006 Ford F-150XL in the Boom Station Road/Route 49, Lawrence Township, and fled the area, traveling west on Route 49 at a high rate of speed. He was pursued to Elkland, traveling north on Ellison Road to the New York State line, proceeding on County Route 85. He crashed the truck into guide rails, and was flown via medical helicopter to Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, for treatment of injuries he suffered the crash. After receiving treatment, he fled prior to being discharged.


Daniel Hess, 32, of Benton, was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants following a traffic stop of his 2011 Ford Escape on Berry Street, Tioga, June 23.
