Jeremiah Gee, 42, of Tioga, faces charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants following a traffic stop on Main Street, Tioga, July 20. He was charged in Elkland District Court.

Thomas Martell, 41, of Clarence, faces charges of DUI following a traffic stop on North Williamson Road, Covington Township July 19. He was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado at the time of the stop. and charged through Elkland District Court.


Police are investigating a theft by deception that happened July 28. A 64-year-old Mansfield woman received an email that appeared to be from an old work colleague that requested the victim purchase two $100 Amazon gift cards at Lowe’s and then provide the numbers off the back so the person could use them for a birthday gift for her niece. The victim purchased the two gift cards and then sent photos of the backs to the email address. The victim was contacted again and asked to send two more and her accountant would send a check for all the cards. At this point the victim suspected it was a scam and didn’t send any more gift cards.

Drug possession

Clint M. Walker Jr. 20, faces charges of drug possession after state police executed a search warrant at 12393 Route 6, Charleston Township Aug. 2. Police recovered a marijuana grow in a back bedroom as well as bulk packaged marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He also had a Glock 26 in a safe in the bedroom. He was transported to PSP Mansfield and then to Tioga County Jail. Another male involved was released and will be charged at a later date.


Both occupants of a 1993 Chevrolet S-10 pick-up truck escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash on Route 49, Nelson Township, Aug. 2. Edward J. Cushing, Jr., 52, of Lawrenceville, and Candy L. Horton, 40, of Lawernceville, were traveling east when the truck went off the roadway to avoid hitting another vehicle and then hit a traffic control sign. Both occupants were wearing seat belts. Cushing was cited for no valid inspection.

No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash on Route 6, Richmond Township Aug. 3. Jospeh Powers, 83, of Mansfield, was traveling east in a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer and Manford U. Weaver, 41, of Troy, was traveling west in a 2019 Ram 1500 pick-up truck. The Trailblazer stopped and turned left into the driveway of a storage unit in front of the Ram, which was unable to avoid hitting the Trailblazer. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage. All occupants of both vehicles were wearing seat belts or were in proper child safety restraints including four minors in the Ram. Powers was cited for turning left in front of oncoming traffic.
