Crashes

A 2007 Sterling LT9500 car carrier knocked down wires and damaged a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado it was carrying while making a U-turn in the parking lot of the Blaise Alexander Chevy Dealership, South Main Street, Richmond Township, July 5. The driver didn’t notice wires hanging low and collided with them, causing damage to the roof and passenger rear door area of the pick-up truck. Blue Ridge and Frontier were contacted to fix the poles and wires.

No injuries were reported in a crash in a PennDOT work zone on Route 414, Union Township July 12. The 2012 Freightliner tractor trailer was traveling east at about 10 mph when the passenger side mirror hit a special equipment trailer causing minor damage. All occupants of both vehicles were wearing seat belts and were not injured.

A 16-year-old male driver of Millerton was injured in a one-vehicle crash on North Road, Jackson Township July 8. He was operating a 2007 Ford Focus east when he lost control of the car coming downhill around a curve. He was transported to Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, for treatment of his injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.

William E. Sewell, 54, of Galeton, was injured when he was struck by 17-year-old male of Covington operating a 2011 Ford Fusion at the Wal-Mart parking lot in Richmond Township July 8. Sewell was unloading a shopping cart into the trunk of his 1998 Buick LeSabre when the Fusion backed out of the spot across from his car and hit the shopping cart, causing it to roll over Sewell’s left foot and his car.

A three-vehicle crash on Route 49, Westfield Township, July 6 resulted in one injury. Joshua A. Payne, 36, in a 2019 Ford F250 Supercab, was attempting to turn left off Route 49 onto North Fork Road and turned in front of a 2008 Nissan Altima operated by Richard H. Campbell, 47, of Langhorne, hitting him. The truck became airborne, and landed on a 2006 Saturn Vue operated by Brandon Deangelis, 28, of Westfield. Passenger Rebecca C. Campbell, 47, of Langhorne, was transported by Valley Community Ambulance Association to Soldiers + Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro for a minor injury. All occupants of both vehicles were wearing their seat belts.

Robert V. Florez, 54, of Troy, suffered a minor injury in a one vehicle crash on Old State Road, Sullivan Township July 4. Florez was traveling west in a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt when the vehicle left the north side of the roadway for an unknown reason, and hit a culvert covered by grass. The car then rolled over onto the driver’s side, and came to rest facing west. Florez was transported to Troy Hospital for treatment of his injuries, and his three passengers, including Jennifer L. Florez, 45, of Troy, Dylan R. Fleet, 23, of Canton and Thomas J. Fleet, 22, of Milton, refused transport. All occupants of the vehicle were wearing seat belts.

Thomas A. Levanowitz, 32, of Blossburg, escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash on Route 15, Richmond Township July 12. Levanowitz was traveling south in a 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 when a deer ran into the lane of travel from the east and was struck by the pick-up truck. Both Levanowitz and his passenger, Elaine Levanowitz, 57, who was injured, were wearing their seat belts.

Sean M. Smith, 54, of Ridgeley, West Va., escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash on Route 349, Clymer Township July 17. Smith was traveling west in a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 when he came across a tree that had fallen into the roadway, and he was unable to stop before hitting it. He was wearing a seat belt.

A 17-year-old male from Troy was injured in a one-vehicle crash with a deer on Route 6, Sullivan Township July 4. He was traveling west in a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado when a deer entered the roadway. The driver lost control, slid around in a circle, crossed over the intersection with Bungy Road and rolled over several times. The driver and his passenger, a 15-year-old female, of Alba, were trapped in the vehicle and a witness broke the windshield to get them out. The driver was transported to Troy Hospital, and the passenger refused medical treatment. Both were wearing seat belts.

Police are investigating a hit and run crash on Bloss Mountain Road, Liberty Township July 12. Someone traveling north in an unknown vehicle cross the white fog line and hit a Penn-DOT work sign, pushing it about 100 feet before coming to a stop. The vehicle then backed up and fled the scene. There were no injuries reported in a two-vehicle crash on Route 287, Middlebury Township July 14. The two drivers, who were not identified by police, were traveling in opposite directions when the driver of a 2014 Subaru Forester, traveling south approached two other vehicles traveling north and could not stop in time to avoid hitting them, so the driver steered into the opposing lane of travel to avoid hitting them and ended up hitting a 2012 Dodge Charger, also traveling south.

Fugitive

Timothy Kozak, 45, of Eastpoint, Ga., was allegedly found to be driving under the influence of intoxicants in a 2003 Kia following a traffic stop on Route 15, Tioga Township, June 9. Police said also found in the vehicle were drugs and paraphernalia. He was found to be a fugitive from Georgia after he gave police a false identity. He was arrested, charged and arraigned and remanded to Tioga County Prison.

Harassment

A 42-year-old Mainesburg man was arrested and taken to the Tioga County Prison following a physical altercation on Mainesburg Road, Sullivan Township June 23 with a 73-year-old female and a 74-year-old male, both of Mainesburg.

A 52-year-old Blossburg man was arrested for harassment following a domestic incident on Butler Hill Road, Deerfield Township July 1. Police said he broke the key fob to her vehicle while trespassing. A physical altercation occurred causing a scratch on the victim’s arm. The investigation is continuing.

Chyanne Randell Parker, 28, of Lawrenceville, faces charges of harassment following an incident with a 62-year-old Wellsboro woman on Round Top Road July 15. Parker allegedly placed her hands in the neck area of the victim and hit her in the upper arm.

Theft

A 44-year-old Tioga man was the victim of theft of a Ryobi electric power washer valued at $268on Route 549, Rutland Township July 9.

DUI

There were no injuries reported in a two-vehicle crash on Cummings Creek Road, Farmington Township July 2. Rodney P. Gilbert, 52, of Tioga in a 2007 Ford F150 was making a left hand turn from Elkhorn Road onto Cummings Creek Road when he pulled out in front of a 2002 Mazda SX operated by Daniel P. Pettie, 40, of Westfield. Gilbert was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

A 58-year-old Troy woman was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants following a traffic stop on a 2018 Ford Escape on Route 549 June 13.

Drug charges

Korinne Pierce, 28, of Westfield, faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia after police found a metal pipe in her possession that had marijuana residue in it June 25 on California Road, Westfield Township.

Criminal mischief

Police are investigating a case of criminal mischief on Maiden Lane, Duncan Township between July 12 and July 14. Someone entered private property and set fire to two parked vehicles and stole three trail cameras.
