DUI Crash

Garrett Fairbanks, 21, of Wellsboro, faces charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants after he crashed his 2013 Dodge Dart on Landrus Road, Bloss Township April 30. Police said the hit a 2013 Toyota van owned by Joanne Albrecht, 62, of Wellsboro.

Drug charges

Two people from Wellsboro were arrested following a traffic stop on South Main Street in Richmond Township May 7. Police said the 37-year-old female and 24-year-old male were traveling in a Chrysler when they were stopped for a traffic violation, and it was discovered that they were in possession of illegal substances and drug paraphernalia. Charges are pending in district court.

Theft

A 20-year-old woman from Wellsboro was charged with theft following a domestic incident on French Hill Road, Middlebury Township, May 2. Police said the woman bit a 20-year-old man in the right arm, broke his glasses, and stole his cell phone. She then fled the scene, police said.

Crashes

Nathanial D. Johnson, 28, of Morvia, N.Y., escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash involving a deer on Route 15, Liberty Township May 10. Johnson was traveling north in a 2015 Hyundai Sonata when the deer ran out from the east berm into the path of the vehicle. The car was towed from the scene. Johnson was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

Michael E. Watkins, 22, of Osceola, escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash on Route 49, Deerfield Township May 9. Watkins was traveling west in a 2004 Chrysler Sebring when he left the roadway for an unknown reason and hit a tree. His passenger, Travis F. Huck, 24, of Wellsboro, also was not injured in the crash. Both were wearing seat belts. Watkins will be cited for various traffic violations, police said.

Jordan N. Onks, 28, of Blossburg, escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash on East hill Road, Covington Township May9. Onks was traveling west in a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix when she veered off the north side of the road and hit a guide rail. She was cited for failing to drive on the right side of the roadway. She was not wearing a seat belt.

There were no injuries in a one-vehicle crash with a deer on Alder Run Road, Jackson Township May 7. Police said the driver of a 2015 Jeep Cherokee was traveling south when the deer entered the roadway and hit the left side of the Jeep, causing the Jeep to veer right and drive off the west side of the road into a ditch. The driver was not injured and the vehicle was driveable with no property damage.
