Accident

James E. Morrison, 28, of Westfield avoided injury in a one-vehicle accident on Route 249 in Chatham Township March 9. Morrison was operating a 2008 Jeep Liberty when a deer entered the roadway. Morrison was unable to avoid striking the deer. The vehicel was towed from the scene by Whites Towing.

Justin T. Peters, 21, of Galeton and Jordyn E. Coffee, 21, of Wellsboro both avoided injury in a two-vehicle accident on Route 660 in Richmond Township March 7. Peters was operating a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500, when Coffee, driving a 2013 Subaru Impreza attempted to pass in the left lane. While Coffee was attempting to pass, Peters moved into the left lane causing the front portion of Coffee’s Subaru to impact Peters’ vehicle. Both vehicle then traveled onto the Southern edge of the road where they came to a final rest. Peters was charged with careless driving.

DUI

Alissa R. McDonald, 25, of Lawrenceville was arrested for DUI on Route 49 in Lawrence Township Feb. 23. McDonald was operating a 2000 Ford F250 when she struck a mailbox and went into an uncontrolled skid and subsequently overturned twice before comingto a final rest off the roadway. An investigation following the accident revealed McDonald was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Charges will be filled through district court.

Theft

State police are investigating a theft of an ATV from Butternut Lane in Covington Township between Feb. 22 and March 3. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police.

State police responded to a reported theft of a computer valued at $2,000 on North Road in Middlebury Township March 13. The investigation is ongoing.

State police are investigating a theft that occurred on Marsh Road in Nelson Township between Dec. 21 and March 14. Unknown persons stole a utility trailer from a residence. Anyone with information is asked to contact State Police at Mansfield.

Lost property

State police received reports of a lost Ruger security 9mm pistol March 2 in Jackson Township. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact state police.

Hit and run

Kassandra Mitchell, 27, of Mainesburg avoided injury in a hit and run accident on Connelly Mountain Road in Sullivan Tonwship March 12. Mitchell was operating a 2016 Chevrolet Trax when negotiating a curve in the roadway another vehicle drove into her lane. Mitchell was unable to avoid being struck by the oncoming vehicle. The other vehicle then fled the scene without stopping to provide information.

Mental Health Act

State police responded to a report of a male who cut his wrist in Tioga Borough Feb. 26. The individual was transported to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital for a mental health evaluation.

Found property

State police responded to a report of found drugs at Cemetery Road in Middlebury Township Feb. 26. When police arrived at the scene there was a pink and gray fanny pack found, containing a glass smoking pipe inside. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police.

Overdose

State police responded to an overdose that occurred in Richmond Township March 7. The individual was transported to the hospital via emergency medical staff.

Drug possession

State police responded to Rose Valley Road in Brookfield Township in regards to found drug paraphernalia March 12. The investigation is ongoing.

Harrassment

Taylor Cramm, 18, of Canton was arrested for harassment in Union Township March 13. Police were investigating a reported physical altercation on Route 414 when Cramm was arrested.

A 35-year-old female and a 40-year-old male, both of Mansfield, were arrested for harassment in Richmond Township March 15. The individuals were cited for harassment through district court.

PFA Violation

A 50-year-old from Hamburg was arrested for an active protection from violence order after the individual telephoned the accuser on March 13.
