Accident

State police responded to a four vehicle accident on Route 6 in Delmar Township March 18. The crash occurred as a Chrysler Town and Country operated by Lorraine S. OConnor, 68, of Westfield rear ended a 2006 Dodge Stratus operated by Rena M. Brown, 38, of Galeton, who in turn rear ended a third vehicle. Brown then moved into the eastbound lane and struck a 2013 GMC Savana operated by Anthony J. Yeager, 61, of Wellsboro. OConnor and a passenger were taken to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial hospital via Wellsboro ambulance for suspected injuries. The drivers of the other three vehicles sustained no injuries as a result of the crash. OConnor was cited for following too closely.

Dennis J. McArthur, 60, of Niagara Falls, N.Y. and three passengers suffered injuries in a one-vehicle accident on U.S. 15 in Liberty Township March 15.

Thomas E. Lawson, 29, of Mansfield and Barry L. Sparling, 52, of Troy both avoided injury in a two-vehicle accident on Route 6 in Sullivan Township March. 15. Lawson was operating a 2008 Ford F250 when the driver’s side wheel broke loose from the vehicle. Sparling was operating a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado when his vehicle was struck by the wheel from Lawson’s vehicle. Both vehicles were towed by Costy’s.

Theft

State Police are investigating a theft that occurred on Stony Fork School Road between March 16 and 17. The incident occurred as unknown individuals stole garden decorations from the property. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police.

State police are responded to a theft at a residence in Westfield Township March 20. The accusers were evicted from the residence on Feb. 28, 2020. The accusers returned on March 20 and discovered that multiple televisions, a playstation 2, playstation 2 games and multiple medications where removed from the residence. The defendant(s) left in an unknown direction with an unknown method of transportation. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police.

Criminal mischief

State police were notified of a criminal mischief event that occurred around 6 p.m. on March 16 on North Bullock Road in Richmond Township. A green Dodge Dakota stopped near the stop sign and an unknown male exited the vehicle and used gray spray paint to write a racial slur on the stop sign located at the intersection. The individual then entered the pickup truck and fled the area. Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to contact state police.

State police responded for a report of criminal mischief on Route 49 in Westfield Township. The homeowner discovered three windows on the front of her residence were reportedly shot with a BB gun. The windows were broken sometime between March 18 and March 20. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police.

DUI

Faith N. Bartlett was arrested for driving under the influence on Mount Zion Road in Charleston Township March 7. Bartlett was operating a 2008 Hyundai Sonata when the vehicle went into an uncontrolled skid and hit a utility pole. Bartlett was transported to for minor injuries. An investigation revealed that Bartlett was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

Suicide

State police and the Tioga County Coroner’s Office responded to a report of a deceased male. Upon investigation it was determined the manner of death was suicide.

Overdose

State police responded to a reported overdose that occurred on Whitneyville Road in Charleston Township, March 17. The incident occurred as an individual overdosed on prescribed medication.

Harassment

A 37-year-old female, of Mainesburg, and a female of Mainesburg were arrested for harassment on Old State Road in Sullivan Township March 23. The accuser went to retrieve a cellular phone. The defendant threw the phone, cracking the screen and the second defendant grabbed the accuser by the hair and pinned her to the ground.
