Between the Cowanesque Valley Indians and the Wellsboro Hornets, the teams had an incredible total of five golfers in attendance for this years individual regional golf competition with the Indians sending three and the Hornets sending two golfers. Between the two schools they sent the only NTL competitors for the match.

During the Eastern Regional individual competition on Monday, Oct. 14 two local NTL golfers qualified for states. Indians Austin Outman led the way, shooting a 74 on the day and coming in second place overall. Outman was just one shot out of first place on the day and came up just short of a victory.

Indians golfer Joel Heck was also in attendance and shot an 86, but was just five shots over the cut to qualify for states. Skylar Smith also participated for the Indians in the girls division, but was also unable to make the cut shooting a 99 just eight shots off of qualifying.

The Wellsboro Hornets Ty Morral was able to qualify for states as well at the competition, shooting an impressive 78 on the day and tying for ninth overall. He ended up shooting just five shots out of the lead to move on to the state competition.

Fellow Hornets standout Joseph Propheta shot an 82 and fell one shot short of the cut.

The individual state championship will be held next week on Oct. 21 and Oct. 22 in York, Pennsylvania at the Heritage Hill Golf Resort.
