Glen Hames Brough, 49, of Wellsboro was charged with retail theft following a reported theft at Tops Market in Wellsboro Oct. 21. The store manager at Tops told police that a male individual has been coming into the store shopping and taking tags off merchandise and putting the tags on other merchandise for a lower price. The manager showed police a video from the store the day of the incident. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 28.
Heather Marie Hess, 42, of Columbia, was charged with DUI, driving while operating privilege is suspended and driving without required lighted lamps following a traffic stop on State Route 6 in Gaines Dec. 6. Police observed Hess driving without headlights at 7:55 p.m. When police made contact with Hess, the odor of marijuana was detected. Hess was unable to produce valid cards. An investigation showed Hess had been smoking just prior to being stopped. A certified copy of Hess’s driving record was obtained and showed she was in fact under an active suspension of her driving privileges. Hess was taken into custody and transported to Soldiers and Sailors for a blood test. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 28.
Travis Floyd Huck, 24, of Wellsboro was charged with possession of a controlled substance following police response to a possible drug overdose Nov. 18. Upon arrival police observed Huck displaying common symptoms of an overdose. Noloxone was successfully administered by Wellsboro Ambulance and Huck was transported to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital. At the scene, two blue wax bags, a small clear bag containing white powder, a metal spoon containing white powder residue and a hypodermic needle were obtained by police. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 28.
