Robert J. Romanowski Jr., 65 of West Grove, was charged with theft following a reported bad check Jan. 31, 2019. Romanowski gave the victim a blank check for a truckload of hay, and when the victim attempted to cash the check it did not clear. After providing Romanowski with a certified letter giving him 10 days to pay and Romanowski having signed the letter, he still did not pay the amount for the hay. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 25.
Darren Lee Keck, 50, of Wellsboro was charged with DUI .16% or higher, careless driving and disregard of traffic lane following a reported accident at the intersection of King Street and Pearl Street in Wellsboro on Dec. 7. At the scene police observed a 2011 Chrysler 200 with Keck standing outside of the vehicle. When police made contact with Keck he was slurring heavily. A field sobriety test revealed multiple indicators of impairment and Keck was placed under arrest. A blood draw at Soldiers and Sailors was taken following Keck’s arrest. A toxicology report from Jan. 16 stated Keck’s BAC was .244%. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 3.
Edward Speary, 62, of Mansfield was charged with two count of DUI and careless driving following a report of an intoxicated individual on Charleston Road in Charleston Township Oct. 15, 2019. When police arrived at the scene Speary appeared disoriented and was slow to respond to questions. Police administered a PBT which tested positive for alcohol. Speary was placed under arrest and his vehicle, a 2004 Subaru Outback, was pushed from the roadway. At the station a breath test yielded a BAC of .246%. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 25.
Loren Gregory Williams, 54, of Wellsboro was charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness following a reported intoxicated individual laying in the road outside of Rite Aid in Wellsboro on Jan. 10. When police arrived at the scene Williams was placed under arrest after he reportedly said he was going to kill officers. Once at the station Williams had to be physically removed form the police vehicle as he refused to get out. Williams was uncooperative while charges were being typed. He was placed in Tioga County Prison. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 10.
