The following people either have appeared or will appear before District Judge Rob Repard to face various charges.
Zachariah Brian Luczak, 28, of 30 Charles St., Apt 5, Wellsboro, faces charges of aggravated assault and applying pressure to the throat or neck during a domestic incident at the residence Oct. 1. Wellsboro police were dispatched to the residence for a reported assault between boyfriend and girlfriend. She said he choked her, leaving bruising and red marks on her neck, and that he had punched her in the face and jaw with a closed fist, and kicked her in the ribs. She refused to be transported by ambulance and said she was going to walk to the hospital. He waived his preliminary hearing and his county court arraignment was set for Oct. 28.
Use and possession of drug paraphernalia
Logan Frank Cadek, 25, of 4084 Cornell St., Wellsboro, faces charges of use and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop of his 2010 Nissan Altima after he ran a stop sign at Charleston and Cone streets Sept. 19 and borough police said they could smell burning marijuana. They found a smoking pipe that smelled of burnt marijuana and had burnt residue inside it. They also found a grinder containing residue. He was issued a summons to appear at an Oct. 22 preliminary hearing. Nathan Randall Phillips, 29, of 25 Charleston St., Wellsboro, a passenger in the car, also faces charges of use and possession of drug paraphernalia and has a preliminary hearing Oct. 22.
Hayley Kathleen Maciel, 23, of 172 Wellington St., Athol, Mass., faces charges of DUI following a traffic stop by state police of her 2006 Nissan Murano on Bloss Mountain Road, Liberty Township Aug. 3. Her BAC registered .088%, and her preliminary hearing was set for Nov. 1.
Robert Eugene Williams III, 40, of 23 West Ave., Wellsboro, faces charges of theft and receiving stolen property after he allegedly took a total of $409.24 on three days in August, Aug. 4, 7 and 9 from Canyon Country Cabs in Charleston Township while an employee for the cab company. He was issued a summons to appear at an Oct. 29 preliminary hearing.
