Stephen Bruce Reed, 54, of Wellsboro was charged with simple assault and harassment following a reported active domestic incident in Charleston Township May 24. Upon arrival at the scene police discovered a verbal argument had become physical and observed a laceration on the accuser’s hand. Reed was taken into custody and released on unsecure bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 6.
Brendan Patrick Munley, 59, of West Chester, was charged with two counts of simple assault, terroristic threats recklessly endangering another person, two counts of harassment, two counts of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness following a report of a drunk individual at Asaph Campground in Shippen Township June 5. The accusers related to police that Munley had confronted them with a pistol and machete after being asked to leave their campsite. Munley was taken into custody and posted secure bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 28.
Tammi Lynne Ferguson, 54, of Wellsboro was charged with retail theft following a reported theft at Tops Market on March 1. Police contacted Ferguson who reportedly admitted to attempting to take merchandise without properly paying for it. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 28.
Justin Kyle Bailey, 30, of Wellsboro, was charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Tioga Street May 27. When police made contact with Bailey they noticed an odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. Bailey was asked to complete a field sobriety test during which he showed signs of impairment. A preliminary breath test was administered and the result confirmed the presence of alcohol. Bailey was placed under arrest and a blood draw was administered at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital which also came back positive for the presence of alcohol at .115%. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 4.
