More than 500 swimmers dove into Packer Pool Saturday at the Summer Swim league championships.

Five-hundred and fifteen swimmers dove into Packer Pool when Wellsboro hosted the Summer Swim League Championship, July 27.

The championship meet brought the 12 league teams together for the only time during the year.

There was one league record broken by Christian Coleman of Lewisburg who posted a 48.09 in the boys 15-18 100 yard freestyle event.

Among the 12 teams competing there were 619 individual personal best swims recorded at this championship meet.

Wellsboro boasted two championship meet age group champions who for 2019 and will now have to defend their title in 2020. Both the 13-14 boys and the 13-14 girls claimed their titles Saturday.

Overall, Wellsboro finished the season with a second place team score of 1,052.

Hosting an event of this magnitude requires dedication from parent volunteers who stepped up to the task again this year and provided a successful competition.

With the season over, the Wellsboro summer swim team can look forward to an exciting 2020 season.
