Timothy J. Gooch, a certified public accountant from Wellsboro, was named vice president of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Gooch was elected at PICPA’s 122nd Annual Meeting held in Philadelphia on June 3.

Gooch is a partner with Baker Tilly Virchow Krause LLP in Wellsboro, specializing in small business consulting services, tax planning, and compliance. He serves on PICPA’s Natural Resources Committee.

In addition to his volunteer leadership with the PICPA, Gooch serves as treasurer and a past president of the Wellsboro Chamber of Commerce, as well as a finance committee member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. He is also former director of Wellsboro United Fund, Wellsboro Electric Company, and Wellsboro Area Little League.

“The PICPA is such a strong and diverse organization,” Gooch said. “It is an honor to have the opportunity to serve on the board.”

Gooch received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bloomsburg University.

Other CPAs elected officers at the annual meeting are as follows: Martin C. Levin, CPA, managing director of RLB Accountants in Allentown, president; Jill E. Gilbert, audit partner with RKL LLP in Lancaster, president-elect; Aaron R. Risden, chief financial officer and treasurer of Vision Benefits of America in Carnegie, vice president; and Frances A. Aitken, senior vice president for finance and operations with Berks County Community Foundation in Reading, treasurer.
