The Wellsboro Hornets girls volleyball team opened up league play this Tuesday night against the Troy team. The Hornets ended up winning all three sets with a sweep in this matchup, winning 25-9, 25-9, and 25-14 respectively. On offense, Caitlin Callahan led the way for the Hornets with 10 kills, three aces, and one block on the evening. She also had 20 points in the outing.

Breigh Kemp also added nine assists to go along with ten points and one ace. Ryann Adams also pitched in with eight digs to go along with an ace. Bailey Monks anchored the Hornets on the defensive end recording three blocks and five kills in the victory on Tuesday.

Wellsboro’s junior varsity team followed with a win as well taking sets 25-11 and 25-7.

Wellsboro now brings its record to 1-0 facing off against Towanda in Towanda next Thursday night.
