Women Riders World Relay is a world-first all-female motorcycle relay, passing a GPS-tracked baton through over 80 countries around the globe from woman to woman and motorcycle to motorcycle.

It started in February 2019 in Scotland and will take 12 months to tour the globe, ending January 2020 in the United Arab Emirates.

An extension of the main relay, the WRWR U.S. Ripple Relay started in March 2019 and covers areas that will be missed by the main route and it’s coming to Wellsboro.

On Sunday, Aug. 11, the USA Ripple Relay baton will travel from Rome, N.Y. through Watkins Glen, N.Y. arriving at the Canyon Motel, Wellsboro that evening.

On Monday, Aug. 12, the baton hand-off from New York to Pennsylvania will take place at noon with a ride to Leonard Harrison State Park/Pennsylvania Grand Canyon for photo opportunities followed by a welcome reception hosted and sponsored by Timeless Destination, 77 Main St., Wellsboro at 1 p.m.

Any woman rider who wants to join can meet at the Canyon Motel on Monday, Aug. 12 by 9 a.m. Contact April J. De Grande via Facebook Messenger, the WRWR Pennsylvania Ambassador for more information.

WRWR’s mission is to ignite a global sisterhood of inspirational women to promote courage, adventure, unity and passion for motorcycling from all corners of the world and do something that’s never been done before to this scale.
