Cochran and Stover both scored one goal each just 46 seconds apart after St. Marys took a 1-0 lead after a scoreless first 12 minutes. Cochran scored at the 20:05 mark of the first half off of a throw in, with Stover tacking on the second goal of the game at 20:51 off of a penalty kick.
They each scored in the second half as well, Cochran at 23:49 and Stover at 33:14.
The other goal was by Joey Brumbach with 27 minutes to play.
“I thought we had two very good days of practice before the St. Marys game. It definitely carried over to the effort the boys put in. Everyone worked very hard during the game and we played great team soccer,” Galeton head coach Jim Sunderlin said.
The Galeton soccer team now moves to 1-1 on the season, and after a District Playoff appearance in 2019 they will look to repeat that success this season with a strong lineup of returning players this season.
Galeton will take the field again when they host a tough Port Allegany team on Thursday, Sept. 22.
