Regan Fuller dominates from the mound

The Galeton Lady Tigers softball team improved to 4-2 on the season with four straight wins last week over Smethport, Williamson and Northern Potter.

Galeton kicked off the week with a 15-0 road win over Smethport. The Lady Tigers had lost their two previous games prior to the matchup with the Lady Hubbers. Against Smethport, Galeton jumped ahead early and never looked back. With three runs in the top of the first followed by another two in the second Galeton was able to build a lead which the Lady Hubbers never threatened. The Lady Tigers won 15-0 in six innings.

Maddie Sauley was one of three Galeton players with three RBIs on the night. Sauley who went 3-4 at the plate along with Cara Parsell, and Haylee Ludington accounted for nine runs batted in. Parsell finished the evening 1-4 with a double while Luginton went 2-5 in the win.

Regan Fuller held Smethport scoreless from the mound for Galeton. She accounted for six strikeouts against the Lady Hubbers.

The Lady Tigers hosted Williamson in a double header Wednesday. Both games against the Lady Warriors were hard fought victories for Galeton.

In the first game, Galeton gave up two runs in the third and had to battle back over the last three innings to take a 4-3 victory. Fuller was responsible for two runs batted in on a 2-3 night from the plate. Pagano and Brielle Kalacinski were responsible for the other two RBIs. Sauley had a double in the win.

From the circle, Fuller recorded eight strikeouts against Williamson.

In the second half of the double-header Galeton against had to come back from a 2-0 deficit. This time the Warriors jumped ahead in the bottom half of the first before adding runs in the third, six and seventh.

The Lady Tigers got on the board in the third with two runs to tie the game. Galeton would take their first lead in the fifth after scoring three more runs.

Williamson kept the Lady Tigers on their toes over the last two innings by keeping the game close adding runs in their final two at bats.

Galeton weathered the storm and held for a 7-5 victory, their third straight.

Ludginton led the team at the plate with four RBIs on with two singles in four at bats.

Fuller finished the game 2-3 with a single and a double.

After the close game with Williamson, Galeton hosted Northern Potter for their fourth straight win, this one a lopsided 16-8 victory.

Jessie Evans led the Lady Tigers with five RBI as she went 2-3 at the plate with a single and a triple.

Pagano knocked in three runs for the Lady Tigers with two singles.

Ludington going 3-5 at the plate was responsible for two RBIs in the win.

Parsell crossed the plate four times for Galeton and drove in two runs herself with a single and a double.

Kalacinski had two RBIs on a 2-3 night.

Fuller and Kate Kulish each drove in a run for the Lady Tigers as well.

Following their streak of dominance Galeton faced Montgomery who was 3-2 Monday, April 15. The score from this game will be in next week’s Free Press.
