Hit and run

Lane M. Gee, 24, of Middlebury Center suffered unknown injuries in an reported hit and run accident on Route 287 in Delmar Township, Jan. 25. Gee was operating a 2005 Jeep Cherokee when he traveled off the side of the roadway and struck the guide rail. The vehicle came to a final rest in the travel lane before being moved to the east side berm. Prior to police arrival Gee left the scene in an unknown direction.


Drivers Melanie A. Hurley, 64, of Blossburg and Nancy J. Nichols, 65, of Wellsboro avoided injury while Jessica J. Carpenter, 38, of Mansfield and a seven-year-old passenger suffered suspected minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident on South Main Street in Richmond Township Jan. 20. Hurley was operating a 2008 Jeep Liberty and turning out of the C&N Bank onto South Main Street in front of a 2016 Jeep Cherokee operated by Nichols. Hurley’s vehicle reportedly struck Nichols’, after which Hurley left the scene. The Jeep operated by Nichols came to a final rest on the right shoulder of the roadway.


State police are investigating a a reported theft that occurred on Wilkins Road in Delmar Township between Dec. 28 and 29. Medication was stolen from the victim’s mailbox between the listed dates. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police.

State police are investigating a theft of approximately $54,000 over the course of a year and a half period on Milk Plant Road in Middle Bury Township. The investigation is ongoing.


Jawelle K. Brown, 20, of Blossburg avoided injury while it was unknown if passenger Taaj Dallas, 19, suffered any injuries in a one-vehicle accident on Creek Road in Covington Township Jan. 26. Brown was operating a 2005 Ford Taurus when he lost control of the vehicle and exited the roadway where it came to a final rest as it struck a tree. Brown walked to the Blossburg Borough Police Department to report the crash to authorities. Dallas left the scene. Brown was cited for driving without a license and driving at an unsafe speed.

Rose Marie McMillan, 60, of Mainesburg avoided injury in a one-vehicle accident on Route 6 in Sullivan Township Jan. 25. McMillan was operating a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee when she lost control of the vehicle on the snow-covered roadway and struck a guide rail. Burkholders Towing assisted on the scene.

Viren R. Patel, 27, of Wellsboro, avoided injury in a one-vehicle accident on Route 6 in Shippen Township, Feb. 1. Patel was operating a 2006 Toyota Sienna when three deer entered the roadway. Patel was unable to avoid the deer and struck all three deer. The vehicle was disabled from the crash and towed from the scene by San Du Towing.


Erika Delile, 35, of Mansfield was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after police arrived on the scene of a one-vehicle accident on Route 660 in Richmond Township, Jan. 28. When police made contact with Delile they determined that she was DUI and she was taken into custody.
