Austin Pride Committee moves forward with fall events
The Austin Pride Committee will hold a Barbecue and Bucks on Saturday, Oct. 3 beginning at noon on the town square. Curbside/to-go meals which include pulled pork sandwich on kaiser roll, coleslaw and baked beans will be available. Meals will be $8 and sandwich only will be $5.
Rake in the “doe” lottery ticket raffle tickets will also be available. Winning ticket will be drawn that evening. Winner will receive Ace brand heavy duty, fiberglass handle bow (rack) rake and $100 worth of lottery tickets.
The Pride Committee will also present the “Terrifying Trail” on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30-31 at the Austin Dam Memorial Park. Terrifying trail walk around a ghoulish dam loop will begin at 7:30 p.m. Spooky movies will be projected onto the dam ruins. Donuts, cider, hot chocolate and snacks will also be available for purchase.
The Austin Pride Committee is a 501 ©3 recognized non-profit organization based in Austin. The small group of volunteers focus on community involvement, pride and revitalization efforts. One hundred percent of all proceeds go back into the community through various events and services.
Austin Boy Scouts to offer fresh pressed apple cider
The Austin Boy Scout Troop 524 will join the Pride Committee during its Barbecue and Bucks event on Saturday, Oct. 3 on the town square. The Boy Scouts will demonstrate making fresh pressed apple cider, which will be available for purchase.
