The Coudersport boys basketball team couldn’t hold onto a one-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, as Farrell was able to outscore the Falcons 19-13 in the final period to end Coudersport’s season in the first-round of the PIAA Class 2A State playoffs by a score of 69-64.

The Falcons were doomed by an offensive explosion by the Farrell Steelers in the fourth quarter, as they scored 19 points in the frame with Eric Hopsin and and Brian Hilton scoring 13 of the Steelers 19 points to close the game out.

Both players hit the double-digit scoring mark in the win with Hopsin scoring a game-high 25 points and Hilton dropping 17 points for the Steelers.

Coudersport had four players score in double-figures in the contest, with Kolby VanWhy hitting a game-high five triples in the effort on his way to 21 points. Hayden Keck notched 15 points, Dillon Keglovits netting 11 points and Travis Gleason scoring 10 points in the loss.

The Coudersport ended their season with a 20-5 record and third place finish in the District 9 Championships.

The Falcons will need to do some reloading during the offseason, as they lose four of their five top-scorers from 2020 next year. The only Falcon starter who is slated for a return in Keck.
