The Coudersport volleyball team had a strong and balanced team effort to defeat the Galeton Lady Tigers, 3-0 (25-21, 25-10, 28-26) on Monday, Oct. 12.

The win avenged a 3-0 loss at Galeton on Sept. 15.

Paige Watson had the winning serve in the final set, while contributing seven kills, nine digs, four blocks and an assist.

Sarah Atherholt had a breakout game with 17 kills, four digs and a block.

Avaree Kellert also had a strong performance with eight kills, an ace and a block while leading the team in digs with 22.

Prayton Perkins had 16 digs, two assists and six aces.

For Galeton, Alexis Johnson and Alli Macensky led with nine kills and one block each, while Johnson got two aces and Macensky one.

Makenna Shuemaker added two kills, eight assists and 11 digs.

Tressa Succowich had 13 digs and an assist, and Lauren Sauley also had 13 digs with three kills, an ace and five assists.

Mikayla Schott contributed 10 digs as well.

Coudersport has now split games with two of the top teams in the league in the race for the NTL championship, and will need to beat Otto-Eldred at home in the season finale on October 26th to have a good shot at the title.

The Lady Falcons improve to 8-6 while the Lady Tigers fall to 8-5.
