Death

Police are investigating the death of 71-year-old Charles Safford, of Port Allegany, who was found in the woods near 24 Upper Portage Road, Liberty Township on Nov. 15.

Missing person

Police are searching for 25-year-old Dakota King, of Eldred, who was last seen by family members on Nov. 9 in Otto Township. King is 5’8” tall and weighs 200 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He is known to drive a burgundy 2011 Chevrolet Impala. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Lewis Run at 814-368-9230.

Terroristic threats

Troy Oknefski, 40, of Bradford, was arrested for making terroristic threats following a domestic incident on East Main Street, Mount Jewett Nov. 11. Oknefski and one of the victims, a 39-year-old female and a 30-year-old female, both of Mount Jewett, engaged in a verbal altercation and he allegedly told both of them he was going to kill them if the victim didn’t return home. Oknefski then told the victim he was going to break her neck. He was taken into custody and arraigned in district court, then remanded to McKean County Jail.

Stalking

Seth Howard, 31, of Port Allegany, Craig Hostler, 33, of Port Allegany and Brandton Hostler, 33, of Port Allegany, were arrested following an incident on Route 59, Keating Township Nov. 13. Police said that both Hostlers were arrested on an outstanding warrant and transported to Mc- Kean County Jail following a traffic stop on Route 6, at the intersection with Jane Ware Road. Howard, who was operating the vehicle, initially called police to report that someone in another vehicle had pulled a handgun on him. After further investigation, it was determined that the handgun was pulled in self defense as Howard was attempting to run the other vehicle off the road, and was stalking a 21-year-old female of Crosby, who was a passenger in the vehicle. Charges will be filed in district court. The vehicles involved were a 2015 Chrysler and a 2002 Ford Explorer.

Attempt to escape

Daniel Roach, 44, of Bradford, was arrested for attempting to escape from the McKean County Jail, 17013 Route 6, Keating Township, Nov. 12. Police said an inmate put a hole in the yard fence in an attempt to escape. The inmate, will be charged with criminal attempt to escape and related charges in district court.

Sex assault

Police are investigating a report of a possible sexual assault of a Mt. Jewett victim that was reported through a Childline Report on Nov. 13.

Paraphernalia possession

Derik Nelson, 22, of Pittsburgh, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after police stopped to check on the welfare of an individual walking along Route 155, Liberty Township Nov. 15. Police said Nelson was found to have an active warrant out of McKean County, and was found to be in possession of 10 hypodermic needles. He was transported to Mc- Kean County Jail pending charges in district court.

Drug possession

Adam McLeod, 27, of Duke Center, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance after police were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at 159 Oil Valley Road, Otto Township Nov. 12. Charges were filed in district court.

Jason Andring, 36, of Marienville, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on Bingham Road, Lafayette Township. Police stopped his 2012 Ford F-150 XLT for a vehicle code violation and charges will be filed in district court.

Crashes

Texley E. Oliver, 65, of Wilcox, suffered a suspected injury in a crash with a deer on Route 59, Keating Township Nov. 12. Oliver was traveling east on a 2000 BMW R150 GS motorcycle when a deer entered the roadway and he hit it, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. Oliver was wearing a helmet and required medical assistance. He was transported to Bradford Regional Medical Center by Priority Care Ambulance.

No injuries were reported in a one-vehicle crash with a deer on Route 46, Keating Township Nov. 10. Brittani Ann Dallas, no age or town listed, told police she had been traveling south in a 2012 Buick Enclave when a deer ran across the road in front of her and she was unable to avoid hitting it.

A fallen tree was the cause of a crash on Bingham Road, Lafayette Township Nov. 10. The operator of a 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue was traveling north when she drove over a tree that had fallen onto the roadway. The driver sustained minor injuries and the car was towed from the scene. She was wearing a seat belt.

Kenneth I. Hill, 56, of Aberdeen, Md., escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash on Route 219, Hamlin Township Nov. 11. Hill was attempting to make a right hand turn in his 2013 Freightliner Sprinter tractor-trailer when the trailer caught the embankment, causing it to roll over on its left side. He was cited for failing to use the required position and method of turning. He was wearing a seat belt.

Autumn L. Harris, 28, of Smethport, escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash on Champlin Hill Road, Annin Township Nov. 14. Harris was traveling east in a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse when she hit a ditch and the vehicle overturned on the driver’s side. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

DUI on drugs

A 32-year-old female of Eldred was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants following a traffic stop of her 2009 Chevrolet HHR on Buffalo Pittsburgh Highway, Lafayette Township Nov. 16. Charges are pending blood test results.

Theft from vehicle

Police are investigating a theft of firearms from a motor vehicle on West Main Street, Mount Jewett Nov. 13. The complainant reported that someone took the guns from a 2010 Ford F-150 XLT between Nov. 1 and Nov. 13. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Lewis Run.

Criminal mischief

Police are investigating a report of a damaged bulldozer belonging to a 46-year-old man of St. Mary’s on Smith Road, Eldred Township between May 8 and Sept. 20. It was determined that someone used the bulldozer without permission causing mechanical damage. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Lewis Run at 814-368-9230. Damage to the D3B Caterpillar bulldozer was valued at $10,000.
