Crashes

Russell J. Braun, 57, of Saint Marys, escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash on Burning Well Road, Wetmore Township Oct. 5. Braun was traveling north in a 1999 Jeep Wrangler when the steering components malfunctioned causing the Jeep to leave the west side of the road, and hit a tree, subsequently rolling onto its roof. He was wearing a seat belt.

Donna J. Howard, 60, of Roulette, and Jason R. Mooney, 34, of Portville, escaped injury in a two vehicle crash on Route 6, Liberty Township Oct. 6. The accident occurred when Howard, who was driving a 2011 Ford Fusion, entered the roadway from the westbound shoulder of the road and hit a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck operated by Mooney that was traveling west. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

There were no injuries reported in a one-vehicle crash on Route 59, Keating Township Oct. 11. Martha L. Buck, 51, of Mount Jewett, was traveling in a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox when a deer ran into the roadway and she hit it. The vehicle was towed from the scene. All three occupants of the vehicle were wearing seat belts.

Eugene D. Quinlan, 56, of Lancaster, escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash on Route 219, Hamlin Township Oct. 7. Quinlan was traveling north in a 2014 Toyota Corolla when a deer entered the roadway and he hit it. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Quinlan was wearing a seat belt.

Suspended license

Frank Sewell, 58, of Kane, was arrested for driving with a suspended license due to a DUI following a traffic stop of a 1989 Dodge Chrysler on Park Avenue, Kane Oct. 12. Charges are pending in district court.

Drug possession

Heidi Mays, 26, was arrested for drug possession following a one-vehicle crash on Route 346, Corydon Township Sept. 29. Police found the vehicle off the roadway with no occupants. The driver, Mays was located on Sept. 30 at a residence in Bradford. She was believed to have had her two minor children, aged 7 and 9, in the car with her at the time of the crash. Multiple items of drugs and paraphernalia where found in the vehicle, a 2009 Nissan Quest. She was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of children and other charges. She was remanded to McKean County Jail in lieu of bail. The investigation is ongoing.

Zachary Dahlke, 27, of Bradford, was arrested for drug possession following a traffic stop at a traffic safety checkpoint on Route 646, Keating Township Sept. 28. A passenger in the 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe, Dahlke, was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia. Charges will be filed in district court.

Justin Herbstritt, 26, of Duke Center, was arrested for drug possession following a traffic stop of his 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier on Main Street, Eldred Oct. 2. Herbstritt was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug parahernalia. Charges are pending in district court.

DUI

Travis Gleason, 23, of Bradford, was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop on Prentisvale Road, Otto Township Sept. 13. He was transported to BRMC for a blood draw. The investigation continues.

A 39-year-old Bradford woman was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants following a traffic stop of a 2019 Toyocar van on South Avenue, Bradford Township Oct. 9. It was determined she was driving under the influence of alcohol and charges are pending results of a blood draw.

A 29-year-old Bradford man was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop on Bolivar Drive, Foster Township Oct. 9. Charges are pending blood test results.

Harassment

A 42-year-old Smethport woman was arrested for harassment after police received a call about a fake social media account sharing intimate images of the 39-year-old male victim of Bradford. Charges will be filed in district court.

Theft of motor vehicle

Police are looking for whoever stole a 2003 Chevrolet S10 that was parked outside the Willows Bar and Grill, 2669 Washington St., Corydon Township for sale on Sept. 22. The vehicle’s owner, a 24-year-old Bradford man, said the valued was approximately $250. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-368-9230.

Theft

A 34-year-old Kutztown woman was the victim of theft after someone attempted to burglaries her property on Smith Road, Eldred Township Sept. 19. During the incident, a red gas can was stolen from the property outside the residence. The suspect was driving a silver Chevrolet Prism. Theft by deception

A 60-year-old man from Ludlow was the victim of theft by deception when unknown individuals gained access to his bank account and removed $560.74 out of his account at Best Buy. The money has been replaced by the financial institution. The investigation continues.

Criminal mischief

An 81-year-old woman of Kane was the victim of criminal mischief after unknown individuals caused damage to her mailbox with an unknown object. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-368-9230.

A 36-year-old Kane woman was the victim of criminal mischief on property at Jo Jo Road, Wetmore Township Sept. 29.

Criminal trespass

A 69-year-old Smethport man was the victim of criminal trespass after a group of six individuals on ATVs entered a cabin on private property without authorization. Nothing was reported damaged or stolen. The investigation is ongoing.
