Suspected rape

State police are investigating a reported rape in McKean Township Sept. 12.


A 36-year-old Ludlow man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs following a traffic stop of his 2008 Ford on Route 6, Wetmore Township, Sept. 14. Charges are pending lab test results.


A crash on Route 46, Norwich Township Sept. 11 is under investigation after the driver hit a dog that ran out into the roadway. The driver of the 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt was wearing their seat belt when th e incident occurred and refused medical treatment. The car then hit a mailbox and went into a ditch. The driver was cited for failing to drive on roadways laned for traffic.

Andrew W. Horton, 54, of Smethport, was injured in a one-vehicle crash after he swerved his motorcycle to avoid hitting a deer in the road on Route 155, Eldred Township Sept. 12. Horton was traveling south when the accident occurred, which caused Horton to fall from the motorcycle, continuing south and hitting a guiderail. He was taken to ECMC of Buffalo via medical helicopter for treatment of his injuries.

There were no injuries in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi tractor trailer truck in Keating Township Sept. 16. Bryan K. Casher, 48. was driving a 2005 Peterbilt truck when he came to s top in the roadway. At that time, a 2014 Ford F-150 XLT pick-up truck operated by Randy J. Ours, hit him from behind. The pick-up sustained disabling damage, Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Michael M. Wetzler, 31, of Shinglehouse, escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash on Route 44, Ceres Township Sept. 15. Wetzler was traveling west in a 2020 Toyota Tundra when he hit a buck entering the westbound lane of travel. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed after Wetzler attempted to drive the vehicle to Belles Run Road. Wetzler was wearing a seat belt.

Scattering rubbish

State police are looking for whoever left a garbage bag along Woodland Drive and Grimes Road in Liberty Township Sept. 15.

Drug possession

Brandon Shephard, 31, of Port Allegany, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop on Church Street, Port Allegany Sept. 16. Shephard was driving a 2003 Chevy Silverado pick-up truck when he was stopped for a traffic violation.
