Coach Hill two former players sign to MLB

Seattle Mariners signed Brett Rodriguez as an undrafted free agent after rounds being dramatically reduced for the 2020 MLB Draft.

“It was a true pleasure to have had the opportunity to coach Brett in the summer of 2017. He has an amazing work ethic, always plays with class, is extremely talented, and, most importantly, is an awesome person. We are very happy for Brett and his family. We are looking forward to following his career.” said Coach Hill on the signing of former player Brett Rodriguez.

Coach Hill also coached Jordan Westburg while he spent a year in Elmira as a player for the Elmira Pioneers during the 2018 campaign. Jordan was drafted in the 1st round, 30th pick overall by the Baltimore Orioles.

“I was really excited to have Jordan join us in the summer of 2018. Jordan just recently tied an all-time record in the College World Series with 7 RBI’s in a game during Mississippi State’s deep run in the series. He was a real pleasure to have with us, very humble, truly a great kid, and one of the best hitters I have ever been around. He will be a great addition to the Orioles, and I am sure he will represent them with class. We look forward to following his career,” said Coach Hill.
