Local Libertarian, Noyes J. Lawton, achieved ballot access for the position of state representative for the 68th District. The 68th District encompasses all of Tioga County and parts of Bradford and Potter counties.

Lawton was required to acquire 323 petition signature in order gain access and with the help of several volunteers he was able to acquire 540 signatures. The petition signatures were due to the state by Aug. 3, which was followed by a challenge period, during which time the petitions’ validity could be challenged.

Lawton was able to navigate the requirements to be on the ballot for the Nov. 3 election.

This will give voters in the 68th District options in the upcoming election as the Democratic party does not have a candidate on the ballot for the state representative slot.

This is also the case in two other northcentral districts as Larry Frey in the 110th and Ryan Bourinski In the 107th are also the Libertarian candidates on the ballots against Republican incumbents.
