About 75 people — including members, family and supporters — turned out for the 2022 Tioga County 4-H Achievement Night on Saturday, Nov. 12.
The event recognized 4-H members for their accomplishments during 2022, as well as volunteers, clubs, leaders as well as organizations and individuals that support the program.
The Mansfield Tractor Supply, represented by Melissa Fenstermacher, was recognized with the Friend of 4-H Award.
The top awards, the Tioga County 4-H Awards, went to four individuals. Theresa Mead received the Head Award, Tracey English the Heart, Carole Bacon the Hands and Kerry Nelson the Health.
Among 4-H members, Darby Stetter received several top awards including the Trophy Level Project award for completing eight years in a single project. She was recognized for dairy. In addition, she received a Plaque Level Project Award for six plus years in a single project, which was clothing and textiles.
Brady Stetter also received a Plaque Level Project Award for dairy.
Master Awards are presented to 4-Hers who complete a variety of projects in specific areas. Darby Stetter received two: a Master of Food and Nutrition for completing five projects in that area and a Master of Sewing and Textiles for completing four projects in sewing and/or textiles.
Other Master-level awards went to Kaycie Shenk, who completed four different livestock species projects to receive a Master of Livestock, and Cassidy Mitchel, who completed horsemanship skills level 1, four years of horse projects and two years of Hoof Hours. Cassidy also received a Hoof Hours award for 2022.
Medal Level Project Awards, presented for four plus years in a single project went to Brent Watkins, market swine; Owen Mead, goats; and Madison Cruttenden for goats and rabbits.
Certificate Project Awards are presented to members who spent two years working on and finishing a project: Jeremiah Doan, goat and beef; Averie Cummings, goat; Ashlyn Watkins, market swine; Makalah Graves, livestock judging; Benjamin Clark, cooking; and Katelyn Redell, cooking and photography.
Club awards are give to clubs which qualify and meet requirements.
Community Service clubs have at least 50% of members complete 35 hours of community service and were awarded to Clever Clovers, Bookfield Pioneers and Canyon Country.
The Cloverbud Club Award recognizes clubs with at least 50% of members exhibiting at round-up and doing a demonstration/presentation. Brookfield Pioneers, T&E Farm Group and Muddy Buddies earned this award.
The Presentation Award goes to clubs with members giving presentations and went to Canyon Country 4-H Club.
The 4-H Pride Club goes to clubs that hold at least two marketing events: Liberty Community, T&E Farm Group, Clever Clovers and Brookfield Pioneers.
The Banner Club Award goes to clubs with high activity level in all areas. This year’s recipients are Muddy Buddies, Brookfield Pioneers, Liberty Community and T&E Farm Group.
