Two injured in Liberty Township crash

Two people received medical treatment following a two-vehicle accident in Liberty Township at 3:34 p.m. on Nov. 18. State police said a 17-year-old male from Liberty was operating a 2013 Ford F-150 XLT traveling south on Buetertown Road tried to brake at a stop sign, but the lack of tread on his boots caused his foot to slip off the brake pedal. The vehicle traveled onto State Route 414 into the path of a westbound 2013 Ford Explorer driven by Ruth J. Morse, 69, of Canton. The vehicles collided, causing the truck to spin around. Both drivers were transported to Soldiers + Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro for treatment as was Marilyn J. Norman, 83, of Liberty, a passenger in Morse's vehicle. A a 16-year-old male, of Liberty, in the truck, refused treatment. The teen driver was charged with failing to stop at a sign. The Liberty Township Fire Company assisted police.
