Mansfield win NTL Championship

The North Penn-Mansfield golf team secured the NTL Title on Wednesday, Oct. 7 with a win at Tyoga Country Club and finished the season undefeated at 41-0.

The North Penn-Mansfield golf team finished their season off Wednesday, Oct. 7 with yet another win at the Tyoga Country Club to give them an undefeated season of 41-0 with a score of 370 on the day.

In their final match, senior Reece White put together his best performance of the season shooting an 84 on the day and leading the field to help push the Mansfield team to a victory and an NTL title.

Mansfield had the most golfers on the day shoot sub-100 with three, and White, Andrew Green (94) and Alex Stein (92) were able to combat some less than ideal conditions on a rainy day to put together a win.

The Cowanesque Valley Indians team were able to capture a second place finish with a score of 398 and were led by their senior tandem of Joel Heck (90) and Skylar Smith (94) and were able to finish in third place in the NTL with a 23-18 record on the season.

The Wellsboro team fell just short in the season-finale, with a score 403 on the day and a third place overall finish.

Brock Hamblin, who shot an 87 and secured the NTL MVP with the lowest average score of the 2020 season (82.57), helped lead the Wellsboro team to a third place finish and a second place NTL finish with a 32-9 record.
