Photos from the Feb. 4 editions are now online

Members of the Galeton borough council, Doug Droppa, vice president, and Joe Petrenscik, president, accept the deed to the former Masons building from Masonic member Mike Mathis, president of the Acacia Club. The building on Main Street was donated to the Galeton Borough, and over the next few months, renovations will be made to accommodate the borough office and police facilities. On behalf of the community, the borough council thanks the Masons for the generous donation of their former lodge home.

Thanks to the artistry, talent and skill of Eliot Ness Museum “Window Warriors” Wonder Woman Sharon Fitzgerald and Ms. Mae Capone, aka Kori Alexis Ditty, with a skillful assist in framing their Roaring Twenties masterpieces by Museum Artisan Jason Gibson, the windows of the Eliot Ness Museum are painted and decorated for Valentine’s Day.

Anglers took advantage of the cold and ice on Nessmuk Lake in Delmar Township, populating the ice with tip-ups, shelters and other necessities of ice fishing. Anglers are also making use of Hamilton Lake and Hills Creek Lake, both in Charleston Township.

The graph above shows the activity of COVID-19 in Tioga County as of Feb. 2. In the last 14 days there has been 121 cases (active). In February there as been a total of 12 cases. It also shows that there has been 549 patients fully vaccinated and 1,792 partially vaccinated.

The sunlit day was followed by three days of snow and cold as a nor’easter swept up the Atlantic coast.
