The North Penn-Mansfield cross country team had a strong showing Tuesday night in Cowanesque Valley where they took home four wins between the two varsity teams as and one win in junior high action.
The varsity boys won over CV with a score of 22-34. The boys also took a victory over Wellsboro 23-34. Sam Shedden finished first overall for the varsity boys with a time of 18:36.
Bergen Weiner of Wellsboro was the second overall finisher, completing the 5000 meter run in 19:03.
Noah Shedden rounded out the top three finishers with a time of 19:13.
Cowanesque Valley’s top two finishers, Seth Neal and Christopher Harris finished fourth and fifth overall with times of 19:19 and 19:37 respectively.
The North Penn-Mansfield girls took victories over Cowanesque Valley and Wellsboro by scores of 15-50 over Cowanesque and 19-41 over Wellsboro.
Cowanesque Valley’s Junes Jones finished first overall for the girls with a time of 21:03, nearly two minutes faster than the second place finisher.
North Penn-Mansfield would post the next three fastest times with Emma Harris 23:01, Grace Farrer 23:33 and Shelby Alexander 23:40. Wellsboro’s Kylie Butler finished fifth with her time of 23:43.
The North Penn-Mansfield junior high girls team split their meets, with a win over Wellsboro and a loss to Cowanesque Valley. The scores of these meets were 27-28 against Cowanesque and 27-29 over Wellsboro.
Crossing the line first for North Penn-Mansfield was Addison Farrer who finished second overall for the junior high girls posting a time of 11:25.
The junior high boys team fell to Cowanesque 15-50. The top finisher for the junior high boys team was Wyatt Richner who completed the 2500 meters in 12:36.
