Trinity Kolb makes the leap over a hurdle in Tuesday’s home meet. Kolb would place fifth in the 100 meter hurdles and fourth in the 300 meter hurdles.

North Penn-Mansfield track and field hosted Troy and Northeast Bradford Tuesday, April 30, placing second in both boys and girls events. Troy took top marks in the boys competition with 122.67 points and 144.5 in the girls.

In the boys events, North Penn-Mansfield’s Garrett David earned a first place mark in shot put with a mark of 38 feet and eight inches. John Minnich and Cory Sponenberg placed fourth and fifth in shot put. Minnich finished with a mark of 36 feet and 11 inches while Sponenberg finished with a mark of 36 feet and four inches.

Also taking first place was the 4x800 meter relay team with a time of 9:04.0.

Nathaniel Johnson and Sam Shedden each earned second place finishes for the Tigers in the 800 and 1600 meter runs. Johnson finished with a time of 2:11.1 in the 800, while Shedden completed the 1600 in 5:04.8.

Caiden Alexander took third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 57.3. Christian Otto also placed third, in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.4.

Dylan Giles placed third in the long jump with a mark of 16 feet and two and one half inches.

In the girls events, Grace Tice took first place in the javelin throw with a mark of 114 feet and eight inches. Finishing in third in the javelin was Gracie Snyder with a distance of 85 feet and 10 inches.

Also placing in the top three in the girls field events was Sierra Marriner in the girls discus with a mark of 74 feet and two inches.

In addition to her first place finish in javelin, Tice also placed fifth in shot put with a mark of 23 feet and eight inches.

On the track the 4x800 meter relay team finished in first place with a time of 11:31.4.

In the distance runs, Ella Farrer led North Penn-Mansfield in the 800 meter run with a third place finish with a time of 2:54.8.

Matthew Mitchell placed third in the 3200 meter run with her time of 15:15.5.

In the sprints, Aleiah Jackson’s third place finish led North Penn-Mansfield. Jackson’s time of 1:11.0 just edged out Shaniya Sparrow in fourth place. Sparrow finished the sprint in 1:11.7. Jackson also placed fourth in the 100 meter hurdles. With a time of 19.3, Jackson just missed a third place finish. In the 300 meter hurdles Trinity Kolb placed fourth with a time of 1:01.4.

Brooke Harvey placed fourth in both the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash. Harvey finished the 100 in 13.8 just .3 out of third place. In the 200 Harvey finished with a time of 28.6.

North Penn-Mansfield’s track and field team travels to Coudersport Friday before closing out the regular season in Wellsboro May 7.
