Tuesday, March 26, the North Penn-Mansfield track and field team traveled to Athens for their first meet of the season. The Tigers would fall in both in both the girls and boys events. The Athens boys won 91.33-54.66.
North Penn-Mansfield’s Caiden Alexander finished fifth in the 100 meter dash with a 13.53 time in the finals. Christian Otto placed sixth with a time of 13.82 in the finals.
Alexander and Otto finished fourth and sixth in the 200 meter dash with times of 27.04 and 27.6.
In the 400 meter dash, North Penn-Mansfield’s Brent Burleigh placed first with a time of 59.33.
Seth Nelson and Nathaniel Johnson finished first and second in the 800 meter run for North Penn-Mansfield.
In the 1600 meter run, three tigers placed in the top five. Johnson, Noah Shedden and Taylor Nelson, finished second, third and fourth.
In the 3200 meter run, Sam Shedden was the highest North Penn-Mansfield athlete to finish with a time of 11:26.1.
The North Penn-Mansfield 4x400 meter relay earned five points, beating Athens by just under seven seconds.
The 4x800 meter relay also was awarded five points for besting Athens.
Jarrett Mahosky and Kaelan Matczak each earned .33 points for North Penn-Mansfield in the high jump.
Mahosky also earned a point in the long jump.
Mahosky and Dylan Giles earned three and one points respectively in the triple jump.
Between Garrett David and John Minnich the North Penn-Mansfield boys earned eight points in shot put. David finished first with a distance of 40-4.50.
Minnich earned another five points for the Tigers in the discus throw.
Kurtis Porter took first place for North Penn-Mansfield in the javelin throw.
In the girls events, Athens won 108-31.
Brooke Harvey led the North Penn-Mansfield 100 meter dashm placing third in the event and earning a point.
Alison Koval and Kyla Madigan placed second and third in the 200 meter dash earning four total points for the Tigers.
In the 400 meter dash Aleiah Jackson, Sophia Domenech and Lakin Ensiminger placed first, second and third to earn nine points for North Penn-Mansfield.
Shelby Alexander placed third in the 800 meter run.
Emma Harris edged Shelby in the 1600 meter run to place third.
Ensminger placed second in the 3200 meter run to earn three points for the Tigers.
Alaina Mahosky placed third in the 100 meter hurdles, just ahead of Jackson in fourth.
Courtney Bower earned a point for North Penn-Mansfield in the 300 meter hurdles, placing third.
Athens won the 4x100, 400 and 800 relays.
Mahosky placed fourth in the long jump, just shy of earning a point for the Tigers.
Grace Time earned five points for the Tigers in shot put with a distance of 25-2.00.
Sierra Mariner was the top North Penn-Mansfield athlete in the discus throw placing fourth.
Tice earned another five points for North Penn-Mansfield by placing first in the javelin throw.
North Penn-Mansfield will compete again Tuesday in Towanda at 4 p.m.
