Friday at the Molly Dry Invitational track meet at Mansfield University, the Wellsboro girls team placed 19th.

Zoe Iseri and Elizabeth Macias recorded the top results of the day for the Lady Hornets in the 300 meter hurdles and 2000 meter steeplechase. Iseri placed seventh in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 56.33. Macias completed the steeplechase with a time of 9:38.47 for seventh place.

Emma Coolidge placed eighth in the javelin throw with a distance of 91 feet and four inches.

In the triple jump competition Caitlyn Callahan placed ninth with a mark of 29 feet and nine inches.

The boys team placed ninth with strong outings from Silas Wagaman, Hunter Brown and Austin Richards.

Richards placed second in the javelin throw which was the highest finals result for the Hornets. Richards recorded a distance of 147 feet and six and one-half inches on his second place throw.

Brown earned two top five finishes in the field competitions, placing fourth in the javelin throw with a mark of 138 feet and six and one-quarter inches. In the discus throw Brown placed fifth with a mark of 124 feet and seven inches.

Meanwhile, on the track Wagaman placed third in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.89. Close behind Wagaman was Brett Rudy who placed fifth with a time of 12.03.

Alex Burrell also had a strong performance for the Hornets with his sixth place finish in the 110 meter hurdles. His time of 17.72 was just shy of a top five finish.

Frank Kewitt was responsible for a fifth place finish for Wellsboro in the high jump with a mark of five feet and four inches.
